The Chief of Kwaso, a town in the Ejisu-Juaben Municipality, Nana Nketia Boampong II, has been deposed by the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
The Kwasohene was found guilty of cheating some Kwaso royals by the Asanteman Traditional Council tribunal hearing the case at Manhyia Palace.
He is accused of having promised to give over a vacant chieftaincy position in exchange for some money totaling Gh300,000.

The Council conducted additional investigations after the head initially refuted the charge.
Nana Boampong was also implicated for his involvement in multiple sale of lands.
He was later destooled for lying and fraud. It has been less than two weeks since the previous destooling.
For breaking traditional practices and selling lands many times, the Otumfuo recently ordered the destoolment of Nana Kwame Owusu Agyeman, the chief of Antoa, a well-known town in Asanteman.
