Armed police officers and soldiers clash in Accra central as traders run for their lives (Video)

Some police officials and soldiers fought in Accra’s Central Business District on Monday

According to a source who spoke to Myjoyonline.com, some military personnel attacked a police officer who was operating a motorcycle due to a traffic violation.

But he was unable to escape the troops’ wrath despite pleading that he was a Chief Inspector.

The soldiers are claimed to have remarked, “You are a Police officer, so what?”

The source claims that the officers ran to Accra Central Police Station to alert his comrades to what had occurred.

They pursued him, overpowered the troops, and took one of them into custody.

The remaining troops made a call for assistance. When the military men arrived, the police resisted their attempts to seize their comrade. There was a conflict as a consequence of this.

On social media, amateur videos showed the troops at first pushing a purported officer in plain clothes.

The man was slapped and punched from all angles while wearing a helmet.

As a result, pedestrians and business people in the Central Business District fled for their lives.

Subsequent videos depict the armed soldiers in front of the Accra Central Police Station.

The officers then went out to clash with the soldiers.

Both security agencies involved are yet to publicly comment on the matter.
