In a conflict between students from University Hall ‘Katanga’ and Unity Hall ‘Continental,’ rampaging students on the KNUST campus destroyed automobiles and other property.

The feuding students smashed several automobiles parked in front of Conti.

Three automobiles were damaged in the clash.

The incident is thought to have occurred as a result of Unity Hall students attempting to restrain colleagues from University Hall from utilizing their façade in a parade.

Minutes after stone pelting between the two Halls, police on the site were able to restore order.

According to Nana Yaw Gyimah of Joy News , the University Hall embarked on a zulu parade within the campus as part of a Hall week celebration.

They had walked through the University’s main streets.

An effort to use the Unity Hall’s facade culminated in the two factions pelting stones at each other.

For more than a decade, the two Halls agreed never to travel past the peace Junction in procession.
