Nigerian popstar Davido is currently trending on Nigerian social media, owing to speculation that the singer and his fiancee, Chioma Rowland, have lost their son, Ifeanyi.
Eniola Badmus, a popular Nigerian actress and close friend of the singer, broke the news in a now-deleted tweet.
However, Davido and his camp are yet to respond to the news, which broke hours after rumors of Ifeanyi’s death spread on social media.
When Daily Trust called the singer’s manager, Asa Asika, his phone number was not answered.
The three-year-old boy drowned in a pool at his father’s house on Banana Island on Monday, according to unconfirmed reports.
It was learned that several people were arrested at Davido’s house at the time of the incident.
The distraught singer was said to have been taken from the hospital where his ‘late’ son had been rushed to his father’s house.
Nigerians, on the other hand, have taken to their various social media accounts to pray for the family while hoping that the news is false.
British rapper and singer Stephanie Victoria Allen, better known by her stage name Stefflon Don, took to her verified Twitter account to pray for the singer. She tweeted, “Prayers for Davido and Chioma.”
