Yeji in the Pru East District of Bono East. It’s usually peaceful, but last week, something terrible happened. A local fetish priest, Mr. Solomon Mbalegon, who was 62, did something unthinkable.
Everyone in town knew him as ‘Okomfo’ Solomon. He lived with his young wife, Madam Nakoli Mbalegon, who was just 25. But one night, things took a dark turn at their home in Parambo, a suburb of Yeji. Solomon suspected Nakoli of cheating, and this suspicion led to a big fight.
According to Mr. Yussif Sulemana, the Assembly Member for the area, Solomon ended up stabbing Nakoli in the heat of their argument. Unable to bear what he’d done, Solomon then stabbed himself. The whole town was in shock when they found out.
Mr. Sulemana has since urged everyone to handle their marital problems peacefully. The police at Yeji are investigating the crime and have arrested a suspect in connection to the crime. Meanwhile, the couple’s bodies are at the St. Matthias Catholic Hospital in Yeji. It’s a harsh reminder of the importance of peace and understanding in relationships.
