Footage of Thousands of Fans Cheering Black Stars During Arrival in Qatar Emerges

Thousands of Ghanaian football fans greeted the Black Stars upon their arrival in Doha ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

The players, management team, and technical team members arrived in Qatar dressed in their traditional smocks (Fugu)

In a social media video, fans protected by Qatari police sang and chanted the names of players as they descended from their bus to their hotel.

Ghana returns to the World Cup after missing the 2018 edition in Russia four years ago, and fans are optimistic after a 2-0 friendly win over Switzerland on Thursday.

The Black Stars have been assigned to Group H, which includes 2016 European Champions Portugal, Asian Giants South Korea and inaugural winners Uruguay.

After spending the previous four days in Abu Dhabi, the team arrived in Doha on Friday evening.

Ghana will return to their base, where the final leg of preparations will begin ahead of Thursday’s match against Portugal.
