Following Ghana’s defeat in the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Maha Ayew, the youngest daughter of Black Stars captain Dede Ayew and wife Yvonne Ayew, was rushed to the hospital.
Mrs Ayew stated on her Instagram page that it happened during the game between Ghana and Uruguay and that she was fortunate to have Dede by their side after the game.
In a long post by Yvonne Ayew, she highlighted the sacrifices Dede Ayew had to pay as a father and a player.
She also commended him for always trying his possible best to juggle the two roles to the best of his ability.
Apparently, Dede Ayew had to rush to the Sidra Medical and Research Centre Hospital after the match to check on his daughter.
In a photo shared by his wife, Dede Ayew is seen carrying his sick daughter on his shoulders after visiting her in the hospital.
Following Yvonne Ayew’s post, fans who understand her French have stormed her page to wish her daughter a speedy recovery.
The Black Stars of Ghana could not qualify from the Group Stage to the Round of 16.
The team lost by 2 goals to Uruguay in their 3rd match.
What was termed by football fanatics as a revenge match for the Ghana Black Stars sadly ended in disappointment as the team couldn’t proceed in the tournament.
And despite Uruguay winning the match, they also couldn’t qualify as they were overtaken by South Korea.
