I declined Stonebwoy’s offer for Aisha Modi to be my manager – OV

Dancehall musician, OV has revealed that she turned down Stonebwoy, the head of his former company, when he suggested that businesswoman and brand influencer Aisha Modi serve as her manager after she left the label.

Speaking on Kwaku Manu’s Aggressive Interview, OV claimed that she declined the offer because she was well aware that Aisha Modi lacked the knowledge and experience necessary to run her music career.

When Stonebwoy decided to lay everyone off from his Burniton Music Record label, he told me he wants to work with me low key but Aisha Modi would have to manage me. I told Stonebwoy I was not interested because Aisha Modi does not have any experience in managing an artiste,” she stated.

Speaking about how things went wrong between her and Stonebwoy, OV claimed that she left Stonebwoy’s Burniton Record label after he decided to stop working with all of the signed artists as a result of the rumors he claimed to have heard.

“I used to worry a lot after leaving Burniton Music Record label because Stonebwoy is someone I really liked and he knows that as well. I never disrespected him or chose Black Cedi or Kelvyn Boy over him. Till now if you ask me what made Stonebwoy sack everyone from his label, I cannot tell you,” she said.

OV, real name Barbara Naa Okailey Nyarko, instructed the media to ask Stonebwoy why he made that choice.

“I think Stonebwoy was scared of the people around him. He thought we would betray him but all the same, I loved him from the bottom of my heart,” she said.

OV claimed that, in contrast to popular belief, she has never smoked marijuana.

Can you believe I don’t smoke? I prefer to drink wine but I have never smoked before,” she stated.
