Antoinette Ama Ampomah Dumelo, the mother of Ghanaian politician and actor John Dumelo, passed away.
On August 16, 2023, he posted on social media that his mother had quietly passed away, leaving him priceless memories and a legacy of loyal support.
John Dumelo conveyed his grief and loss through a heartfelt message on his official Facebook page. He expressed, “My heart is broken. My dear mother passed away peacefully yesterday… my number one supporter. Heaven has gained an angel.”
Dumelo shared a precious snapshot of himself and his mother along with his moving words.
In 2022, Dumelo’s mother, a retired customs officer, was 70. Throughout her life, she devoted herself to her work and her responsibilities as a mother.
Although the precise reason of her death is still unknown, the news of her loss has spread widely on social media, inspiring tributes and expressions of sympathy from John Dumelo’s admirers as well as from his network of friends and acquaintances.
The timing of this tragedy makes John Dumelo’s present emotional journey much more difficult.

On Sunday, August 13, Dumelo got the party’s backing for the second time in a row, signaling his steadfast effort to represent his community in politics.
