Asamoah progressed through the ranks at Sefwi-based Kaaseman FC before joining Liberty Professionals in the Ghana Premier League.
Later, he spent time on loan at Torino and the Swiss club Bellinzona before agreeing to a permanent transfer to Udinese in the summer of 2008.
With over 100 appearances for the club, Asamoah established himself at Udine as one of the most dominant midfielders in Serie A.
Before joining Inter Milan, the Ghanaian made his way to Juventus, where he helped the Bianconeri win multiple trophies, including six league titles.
