Naa Ashorkor’s bizzare experience on the Accra-Tema Motorway will leave you speechless

Naa Ashorkor

Naa Ashorkor, a Ghanaian TV host and media figure, has admitted that she was robbed for the first time while traveling on the Accra-Tema highway and that she has never fully recovered from the incident. She revealed this on TV3’s New Day program when talking about the condition of the Accra-Tema expressway road.

Naa Ashorkor claimed that she and another family were robbed jointly, which led to their determination never to use that particular path again.

Every time I use the motorway, I am scared. The first time I used the motorway in my life, I was robbed on the motorway. I was coming from Akosombo, I was with a family, I think they were an Egyptian family. And we were robbed on the motorway. So I decided I was not going to use the motorway again,” she revealed.

She continued, saying that when she found herself using the route once more, she had turned to prayer. Further expressing her concern for individuals who travel the road every day, Naa Ashorkor urged the authorities to take action. “Fast forward to some time in 2014, I went back to using a motorway because I had to go to Pram Pram. And every time I hit the road, I pray. When I tell you, I say Psalm 23 and the Lord’s Prayer the whole time. I’m not joking. It’s a scary experience, and it’s gotten worse now, I don’t know how people who come from Tema to Accra are able to do this every day. It must be very difficult. “Clearly, the road is bad now. The tollbooths have made it even so much worse, and we’re calling on the government to do something about it now,” she said.

In addition to a number of other individuals, including artist Sarkodie, Naa Ashorkor has called on the government to start work on the Accra-Tema highway. The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards 2016 (VGMAs 2016), held at the Accra International Conference Centre, were hosted by Naa Ashorkor and actor Chris Attoh. For eight years, she also presided over the Miss Maliaka contest.
