Japan fans have once again captured the attention of the world after they were seen cleaning the Al Bayt Stadium following the opening match of this year’s World Cup in Qatar.

This noble act is not new to fans, as it first went viral in 2018 following a knockout game against Belgium in Russia.

Their country had just been cruelly eliminated from the World Cup after a thrilling comeback by Belgium.

Japan thought they were on track for a quarter-final appearance, only to be defeated 3-2 by Belgium.

However, this did not dampen their enthusiasm as they cleaned the stadium. They were later seen doing so at other events, such as the Rugby World Cup.

Al Bayt Stadium has been cleaned

Japan fans have returned, and this time they’ve done something unusual and lovely: they cleaned up Al Bayt Stadium in a game where their country wasn’t even playing.

Ecuador had just defeated Qatar 2-0, thanks to a brace from Enner Valencia.

The Japan fans in attendance picked up litter, as captured in a video spotted by Sports Brief.

The fans were then asked why they were cleaning up after a match that wasn’t theirs, to which they replied, ‘the Japanese don’t leave trash behind.
