Job Position: Electrical / Automation Engineer

Context/Scope

In addition to distributing spirits, GGBL runs four drink categories out of two locations: stout, lager, RTD, and malt. With a roughly 75% market share, the company is the biggest brewer in Ghana.

In a driven environment, the Ghanaian economy is predicted to grow at a mid-to high single-digit rate going forward.

Customers in this area are used to receiving top-notch merchandise. Additionally, the middle class is expanding, and its members are probably open to trying out new goods.

Significant change is being implemented by GGBL, namely in the areas of accountability, supply planning, efficiency, cost reduction, and quality maintenance procedures.

Along with his team of experts, the post holder is in charge of ensuring plant availability and equipment efficiency.

Purpose of the role

  • Lead the shift Asset Care Technicians and assist the day-to-day asset care support team in resolving complex equipment issues while working at the tier 1 level to provide Asset Care functional expertise throughout the region or site.
  • Take the lead in promoting good governance in relation to internal and external compliance (environment, quality, and health & safety).
  • Constant Improvement: Responsible for specialized improvement work
    High-level specialized support should be given to the operations teams.
  • Take the initiative to lead performance analysis that motivates corrective measures to counteract negative performance trends.
  • Oversee the implementation of MMS Asset Care in your areas of responsibility for Asset Care.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers of operating equipment to promote increased plant availability and quicker problem solving.
  • Assist in achieving exceptional results in each of the balanced scorecard’s eight categories (quality, safety, environment, asset care, delivery, efficiency, cost, and morale).

Key Accountabilities

  • At all times, make sure that the criteria for health and safety, the environment, and quality are met, as well as the maintenance regulations.
  • Oversee the implementation of MMS Asset Care procedures in the support team and shift asset care teams.
  • Head the specialized support group to provide optimal equipment accessibility.
    Make sure the asset care team carries out all planned activities related to specialty improvement.
  • Participate in the daily asset care review meetings and take the necessary steps to assist in correcting nonconformance.

  • Make sure spare components are managed efficiently.
  • Assume responsibility for the asset care budget and make sure the most economical methods are used.
  • Encourage team spirit, acknowledge excellent work, and respond quickly to correct underperformance as needed.
    Guide and mentor the team in using problem-solving techniques.
  • Utilize your specialized knowledge to guide DMAIC technique improvement projects.
  • Participate in the Daily Operational Review meetings to bring up, address, and monitor ongoing performance concerns in order to solve the underlying causes and ensure efficient control.

Qualification & Experience

Qualification

  • Degree in Engineering/ HND Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in maintenance engineering in food or drink manufacturing environment.
  • A holder of the GhIE or equivalent recognised body will be useful

Experience Crucial

  • Capacity to oversee employee performance, provide guidance, and foster the growth of a multidisciplinary team
  • Comprehensive comprehension and proven proficiency in every aspect of the plant in the region
  • Proactive, systematic problem-solving abilities acquired via involvement with TPM, Lean, Six Sigma, or Manex
  • Proficiency in RCPS, 5S, Autonomous Maintenance, Set Up Time Reduction
    a basic understanding of budgeting procedures, company drivers, and finances.
  • Competent with Diageo programs and conventional business software (MS Office).
  • Project management expertise and background
  • Experience with maintenance management: KPI enhancement, effective and consistent planning

Desirable

  • Strong familiarity with environmental laws and regulations
  • Excellent methods for managing personnel
    Knowledge of manufacturing and supply chain management from a business perspective. financially savvy – R&M, Capex


extensive familiarity with RCM SAP (or MRP systems), ME, packaging, lean approaches, process control, planned maintenance, environmental systems, and quality systems
