Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Development:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the company’s values, goals, and industry best practices.
- Identify key sustainability priorities and objectives, including targets for reducing carbon emissions, waste, water usage, and improving social impact.
- Collaborate with senior management to integrate sustainability considerations into business decision-making processes.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across departments, including operations, supply chain, marketing, and finance, to foster a culture of sustainability.
- Engage with external stakeholders, including suppliers, NGOs, government agencies, and industry associations, to identify collaboration opportunities and best practices.
Environmental Management:
- Lead efforts to assess and minimize the environmental impact of our operations, products, and supply chain.
- Implement measures to reduce energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, and waste generation.
Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor progress towards environmental sustainability goals.
Social Responsibility:
- Drive initiatives to promote social responsibility and ethical business practices throughout the organization.
Implement programs to support community development, employee well-being, diversity and inclusion, and fair labor practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards related to social responsibility.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
- Stay abreast of emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in sustainability.
- Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of sustainability initiatives.
Lead pilot projects and initiatives to test new approaches and drive continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Business Administration, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in sustainability management or related roles, preferably in the FMCG industry.
- Strong understanding of sustainability principles, frameworks, and best practices.
Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate sustainability initiatives.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and inspire others.
- Experience in sustainability reporting and disclosure frameworks (e.g., GRI, CDP) preferred.
- Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and standards.
- Commitment to driving positive social and environmental change.
- Certification in sustainability (e.g., LEED, CSR-P) is a plus.
