University of South Carolina is seeking applications for several MSc and PhD positions

The Unmanned Systems & Robotics Lab (USRL) at the University of South Carolina is seeking applications for several MSc and PhD positions in the broader area of UAV based remote sensing applications (perception, navigation and control).

These are fully funded positions including competitive stipend, tuition and health insurance coverage. Both US citizens/residents and international students are encouraged to apply and must meet all the admission requirements of the University of South Carolina.

More information about the study program can be found in the Graduate Student Handbook. The positions are immediately available (to start either September 2024 or January 2025).

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Mech Aero\Elec\Computer Engineering or closely related field.
  2. Excellent English skills (both writing speaking).
  3. Strong fundamental & applied background in unmanned vehicles navigation and control.
  4. Excellent programming skills.
  5. Highly ambitious and enthusiastic researcher in the field of autonomous systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. UAV flying experience.
  2. Experience in hardware and software development.
  3. Experience with Linux/ROS.
  4. Publications in top-tier robotics conferences\journals.
